The SECO 10268536 is a 4-flute solid carbide ball end mill designed for both roughing and finishing operations in demanding metalworking applications. It features a 1/2 inch mill diameter with a 0.25 inch nose radius and an extra-long 4 inch overall length, providing extended reach into deep pockets and complex contours. The SIRON-A AlTiN PVD coating delivers elevated hardness and heat resistance, making this end mill well suited for high-speed cutting in ferrous and exotic alloys. Micrograin carbide construction provides the substrate toughness and edge retention required in production environments. The helical right-hand flute geometry promotes efficient chip evacuation during multi-pass milling cycles.
This end mill is intended for use in ferrous and high-hardness materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, super-alloys, and titanium. The extra-long length type and 2 inch length of cut make it appropriate for deep-reach milling where a standard-length tool would not access the full feature depth. It is suited for CNC machining centers running 3-axis and multi-axis programs in tool and die, aerospace, and general precision machining environments. Licensed machinists and CNC programmers working in job shops and production facilities are the primary users of this tool.
Designed for primary use in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, super-alloys, and titanium workpiece materials. Shank diameter matches mill diameter at 1/2 inch cylindrical shank, compatible with standard ER and side-lock CNC toolholders accepting 1/2 inch shanks.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator following the machine tool manufacturer guidelines for toolholder torque and runout verification. Confirm TIR does not exceed the specified maximum of 0.0005 inches at setup using a dial test indicator before cutting. Power down and lock out the spindle before inserting or removing the tool from the holder. Do not use this tool in non-CNC or manual milling applications where speed and feed cannot be precisely controlled.
