The SECO 10198843 is a double-sided, rectangular carbide milling insert in the LOEX series, engineered for high-productivity face and shoulder milling operations. Built to manufacturer grade MP3501, it features a Duratomic TiCN, Al2O3, and Chrome multilayer coating applied for wear resistance and thermal stability. The insert carries a negative rake geometry with a 35-degree rake angle and a T-Land cutting edge style, providing edge strength during interrupted cuts and aggressive material removal. Four usable cutting edges per insert extend tool life and reduce per-edge cost. This insert is intended for use by machinists and tooling specialists in production and job-shop environments.
This insert is suited for milling steel as its primary workpiece material, with secondary application in stainless steel, cast iron, and superalloys and titanium. The MP3501 grade and M12 chip breaker geometry make it appropriate for medium to roughing cuts across a range of material hardnesses. Material grades P20, P30, P40, K20, K30, and K40 are covered. The insert is right-hand cutting and mounts via screw clamping in compatible toolholders. ANSI and ISO standards are met, with the ANSI and ISO code designated as LOEX120712TR-T4-M12.
Designed for use with SECO cutter series R217/220.94-12. Conforms to ANSI and ISO standards under code LOEX120712TR-T4-M12. Verify seat geometry and screw type in the toolholder before installation.
Installation is performed by a machinist or tooling technician using the appropriate Torx or hex key for the insert screw specified by the toolholder manufacturer. Always index or replace inserts with the spindle fully stopped and machine power locked out. Inspect the insert seat and seating pocket for chips or damage before seating a new insert. Do not overtighten the clamping screw beyond the toolholder manufacturer's specified fastener procedure.
