The SECO 10115924 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for demanding milling operations in both roughing and finishing applications. Built on the STR440.2 series platform, this 4-flute tool features a 1/4 inch diameter, a 1/2 inch length of cut, and a 40-degree variable helix geometry that helps reduce chatter and improve chip evacuation. The HTA PVD coating provides elevated wear resistance for extended tool life in difficult-to-machine materials. Right-hand cutting direction with a straight-cylindrical shank and centercutting capability make it suitable for plunge entry and complex milling paths.
This end mill is intended for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills where precise corner radii and surface finish quality are required. It is rated for use on stainless steels and superalloys, aligning with material codes M and S classifications. Typical install environments include production shops, job shops, and toolroom applications where a compact short-length end mill is needed for high-accuracy work on challenging workpiece materials.
Designed as an OEM-specification tool within the SECO STR440.2 series, suited for 1/4 inch collet or end mill holders in CNC and manual milling applications on stainless steel and superalloy workpieces.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Use a properly sized collet or end mill holder rated for 1/4 inch shank diameter and verify runout does not exceed the 0.0005 inch TIR maximum specification before beginning a cut. Do not exceed the recommended length of cut or depth of cut beyond the tool geometry without verifying rigidity and setup stability.
