The SECO 10068965 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying ANSI and ISO designation SPKT140523TN-MD16 in the MP3000 manufacturer grade. The insert features a square shape with a 90-degree included angle, a positive rake angle of 5 degrees, and an 11-degree relief angle. It is coated via PVD with TiAlN, a finish suited for high-heat cutting applications. The MD16 chip breaker geometry is configured for high feed rate milling on a single-sided, neutral-hand insert with four cutting edges. Primary application is hard material, with secondary capability on steel and stainless steel. This insert is installed by machinists and CNC tooling technicians in production and job-shop environments.
This insert is designed for high feed rate milling operations targeting hard materials, steel, and stainless steel. The SPKT-14 series geometry is compatible with R217.21-SP14 and R220.21-SP14 cutter bodies. The 14 mm inscribed circle and 5.56 mm thickness place it in a mid-size tooling range commonly used in face milling, shoulder milling, and high feed applications on machining centers. The screw-holding method provides secure seating under aggressive cutting parameters. Sold individually, it is a direct drop-in replacement when rotating or indexing worn edges on compatible cutter bodies.
Compatible with SECO cutter series R217.21-SP14 and R220.21-SP14. The insert carries ANSI and ISO code SPKT140523TN-MD16 and belongs to the SPKT-14 series.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians during scheduled insert indexing or replacement. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before accessing the cutter body. Use the appropriate Torx or hex key as specified by the cutter body manufacturer to secure the insert screw — do not overtighten, as this can crack the carbide substrate. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surface for chips or debris before seating the new insert.
