The SECO 10023172 is a single-end square end mill designed for high-performance milling of aluminum and non-ferrous materials. Built from micrograin solid carbide, it delivers rigidity and edge retention in demanding cutting applications. The tool features a 3-flute configuration with a 45-degree helix angle and an ANF coating optimized for non-ferrous workpiece materials. With an 8 mm cutting diameter and 20 mm length of cut, it suits short-reach profiling, slotting, and contouring operations. Licensed machinists and CNC operators in job shop and production environments are the primary installers and users of this tool.
This end mill is suited for milling aluminum, copper, brass, and other non-ferrous materials in both production and prototype settings. The short length classification and straight shank make it compatible with standard collet chucks and end mill holders used on vertical machining centers and CNC milling machines. The right-hand cut and right-hand flute spiral are standard for conventional and climb milling passes. The centercutting capability allows plunge entry into the workpiece where needed.
Designed for use in standard straight-shank collet chucks and end mill holders accepting an 8 mm shank diameter, suitable for CNC vertical machining centers and manual knee mills configured for metric tooling.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool is secured with appropriate torque per the toolholder manufacturer specifications before engaging the spindle. Verify runout with a dial indicator before production cuts; the maximum TIR for this tool is listed at 0.01 mm.
