The SECO 10023148 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling in non-ferrous metal applications. It features a 1/2 inch cutting diameter, a 0.030 inch corner radius, and 3 flutes arranged in a right-hand spiral with a 45-degree high helix angle. The ANF PVD coating reduces built-up edge and extends tool life when cutting aluminum, brass, copper, and similar materials. Centercutting geometry allows plunge entry. The AN345R series is built for both roughing and finishing passes in a single tool, making it a practical choice for machinists running production or prototype work on CNC machining centers.
This end mill is suited for milling operations on non-ferrous metals in both production and job-shop environments. The extended reach design, with a 2-1/8 inch reach length and a 0.480 inch neck diameter, gives clearance for deeper features without requiring a longer overall tool. The short flute length of 5/8 inch (0.375 inch length of cut) keeps deflection low at the cutting zone. It fits standard straight-shank toolholders with a 1/2 inch bore and is appropriate for CNC vertical machining centers, horizontal mills, and similar equipment.
Designed for use with standard straight-shank cylindrical toolholders accepting a 1/2 inch shank diameter. Primary material application is non-ferrous metal (Material Application Code: N), including aluminum, brass, and copper alloys.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Secure the shank fully within the toolholder to the manufacturer-recommended gauge line, ensuring the 1/2 inch shank diameter seats properly before tightening. Verify runout does not exceed the maximum TIR of 0.0005 inch after tool assembly. Always confirm spindle is fully stopped and machine is in a safe state before changing or inspecting tooling.
