The SECO 10023078 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill from the Series A345R line, designed for both roughing and finishing operations on non-ferrous metals. It features a 1/2 inch diameter, a 2 inch length of cut, and a 4 inch overall length. The 3-flute geometry with a 45-degree high helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth surface finishes. An ANF PVD coating reduces friction and heat buildup at the cutting edge, extending tool life in aluminum, copper, brass, and similar materials. The 0.125 inch corner radius protects the cutting edge from chipping and improves workpiece surface quality at floor-to-wall transitions. A licensed machinist or CNC tooling technician installs this tool.
This end mill is suited for CNC milling centers and manual mills running non-ferrous workpiece materials, including aluminum alloys, copper, and brass. The straight-cylindrical shank mounts directly into standard toolholders. With centercutting capability, this tool can plunge directly into a workpiece where operations require it. The coarse pitch and high helix combination makes it well matched to high-speed machining strategies common in aerospace, automotive, and general job shop work on non-ferrous stock.
Designed for use with standard straight-bore toolholders accepting a 1/2 inch straight-cylindrical shank. Intended for non-ferrous metal workpiece materials as indicated by primary workpiece material code N. Part of the SECO Series A345R long-length corner radius end mill family.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool change position is engaged before handling. Verify toolholder bore cleanliness and shank condition before seating to maintain TIR within the 0.0005 inch maximum specification. Confirm runout with a dial indicator after clamping before initiating a cut.
