The SECO 10023070 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling in non-ferrous metal applications. It features a 1/2 inch diameter cutting head, a 1-1/4 inch length of cut, and a 0.0900 inch corner radius that reduces stress concentrations and extends tool life at part edges. The three-flute geometry paired with a 45-degree high helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth surface finishes. An ANF PVD coating applied to the solid carbide substrate improves wear resistance and reduces built-up edge. This tool is suited for both roughing and finishing operations and is run by machinists and tool and die professionals on CNC machining centers and manual mills.
This end mill is intended for use on non-ferrous metals including aluminum, copper, brass, and similar materials. The coarse pitch, right-hand spiral flute configuration and centercutting capability allow plunge entry and full-slot or peripheral milling in a single setup. The straight cylindrical shank fits standard toolholders and collet chucks with a 1/2 inch bore. It belongs to the SECO A345R series, which is engineered for standard-length reach applications where rigidity and dimensional accuracy are priorities.
Designed for use with standard 1/2 inch bore toolholders and collet chucks. Primary workpiece material is non-ferrous metal. Part of the SECO A345R series.
Installation and setup should be performed by a qualified machinist following the machine tool manufacturer guidelines. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe lockout state before inserting or removing the end mill from the toolholder. Verify runout with a dial indicator before production cuts — the maximum TIR for this tool is 0.0005 inch. Use appropriate cutting fluid or air blast as recommended for the workpiece material to maintain tool temperature and chip clearance.
