The SECO 10023069 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling of non-ferrous metals. It features a 1/2 inch diameter, a 0.0600 inch corner radius, and three right-hand spiral flutes with a 45-degree high helix angle. The ANF PVD coating resists built-up edge and extends tool life in aluminum, copper, brass, and similar materials. With a 1-1/4 inch length of cut and 3 inch overall length, it handles both roughing and finishing passes in a single setup. Centercutting geometry allows plunge entry. This tool is installed by machinists and CNC operators working in job shops, production facilities, and toolrooms.
The 10023069 belongs to SECO Series A345R and is engineered for non-ferrous metal applications including aluminum alloys, copper, and brass. The coarse pitch, high-helix flute geometry promotes chip evacuation in gummy materials. The straight cylindrical 1/2 inch shank seats directly into standard end mill toolholders and collet chucks. Single-end configuration means the tool is replaced rather than flipped when worn. It suits vertical and horizontal machining centers running profiling, slotting, and peripheral milling operations.
Designed for use with standard end mill toolholders and collet chucks accepting a 1/2 inch straight cylindrical shank. Optimized for non-ferrous metals as indicated by primary workpiece material code N. Series A345R designation applies to this tool family within the SECO product line.
Install and remove end mills with the machine spindle fully powered down and the control in an estop or locked-out state per OSHA lockout/tagout requirements. Seat the shank fully into the toolholder and torque the retention screw or collet nut according to the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Verify runout does not exceed the 0.0005 inch TIR maximum before cutting. Do not use this tool on ferrous materials, as the coating and geometry are optimized for non-ferrous applications.
