The SECO 10023065 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling of non-ferrous metals. It features a 1/2 inch cutting diameter, a 1-1/4 inch length of cut, and a 0.0100 inch corner radius that reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge and extends tool life. The 3-flute configuration paired with a high helix angle and coarse pitch promotes efficient chip evacuation during both roughing and finishing passes. An ANF PVD coating is applied to improve surface hardness and reduce built-up edge on aluminum and other non-ferrous workpiece materials. This tool is single-end and centercutting, allowing plunge entry without a pre-drilled pilot hole.
This end mill is suited for CNC milling operations on non-ferrous metals including aluminum, brass, and copper alloys. Its 1/2 inch straight cylindrical shank seats directly into standard toolholders used on vertical and horizontal machining centers. The standard-length geometry and 3 inch overall length make it appropriate for general-purpose cavity milling, profiling, and contouring where a corner radius is required to meet part print callouts or to reduce corner chipping on the workpiece.
Designed for use with standard straight-bore toolholders on CNC machining centers. Primary workpiece material is non-ferrous metal (Material Application Code: N). Part of the SECO Series A345R end mill family.
Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool change position is engaged before inserting or removing the tool from the holder. Seat the 1/2 inch shank to the full recommended gauge-line depth in the holder and confirm runout does not exceed the maximum TIR of 0.0005 inch before beginning a cut. Refer to the machine tool builder documentation and applicable shop safety procedures when setting speeds and feeds for the specific workpiece material.
