The SECO 10023040 is a single-end corner radius end mill designed for precision milling of non-ferrous metals. Built from solid carbide, it features a 5/32-inch (0.1562-inch) mill diameter, a 0.0200-inch corner radius, and three right-hand spiral flutes with a high-angle helix. The tool carries an ANF PVD coating that extends cutting life on aluminum, copper, brass, and similar materials. At 2 inches overall length with a 1/2-inch length of cut, this end mill suits both roughing and finishing passes in a standard toolholder setup. It is center-cutting, allowing direct plunge entry without a pre-drilled pilot hole.
The 10023040 is intended for CNC machining centers and manual mills where tight tolerances and clean surface finishes on non-ferrous workpieces are required. Its 3/16-inch straight-cylindrical shank fits standard toolholders commonly used in production and job-shop environments. The coarse pitch combined with the high-helix geometry promotes efficient chip evacuation, reducing heat buildup during high-speed passes on aluminum and other gummy materials. This tool is appropriate for machinists, toolroom technicians, and CNC operators working within aerospace, automotive, and general manufacturing applications.
Designed for use with standard straight-cylindrical toolholders. Optimized for non-ferrous metal workpiece materials including aluminum, brass, and copper. Part of the SECO Series A345R end mill family.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator with the machine powered down and the spindle at a full stop before tool changes. Seat the straight shank fully into the toolholder collet and torque the retention mechanism to the toolholder manufacturer's specification. Verify runout does not exceed the 0.0005-inch TIR maximum before beginning production cuts. Confirm workpiece material compatibility before applying cutting parameters, as this tool is engineered specifically for non-ferrous applications.
