The SECO 10023021 is a single-end square end mill engineered for high-performance milling in aluminum and non-ferrous materials. Built from micrograin solid carbide, it delivers rigidity and edge retention under demanding cutting conditions. The 3-flute geometry with a 45-degree helix promotes efficient chip evacuation, reduces heat buildup, and supports aggressive feed rates. An ANF coating is applied to the cutting surfaces, further improving lubricity and tool life in non-ferrous applications. With a 2 inch length of cut and 4 inch overall length, this is a long-series tool suited for reaching deeper pockets and slots where standard-length end mills fall short. Licensed machinists and toolroom professionals are the primary installers and operators.
This end mill is designed for milling aluminum, copper, brass, plastics, and other non-ferrous workpiece materials where the ANF coating provides the greatest performance advantage. The 1/2 inch straight shank fits standard ER collet chucks, end mill holders, and milling machine spindles commonly found in CNC machining centers, knee mills, and manual bridgeport-style equipment. The long length of cut makes it appropriate for deep slot milling, pocket profiling, and peripheral contouring operations where tool reach is critical. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute direction are standard for conventional CNC setups.
Designed for use in standard 1/2 inch ER collet chucks, shrink-fit holders, and end mill holders on CNC machining centers and manual milling machines. Primary workpiece material is aluminum and non-ferrous metals, consistent with the ANF coating. Part of the SECO Series A345 long-series end mill family.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. The machine spindle must be fully stopped and the tool changer or spindle lock engaged before inserting or removing the tool from the holder. Ensure the shank is clean and fully seated to the specified projection depth in the holder before torquing the collet nut or set screw. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut — maximum TIR for this tool is 0.0050 inches per manufacturer specification.
