The SECO 10023012 is a single-end square end mill designed for precision milling in aluminum and non-ferrous materials. Built from micrograin solid carbide, this tool delivers rigidity and edge retention in demanding cutting applications. It carries a 45-degree helix angle that promotes efficient chip evacuation and reduces cutting forces, while the ANF coating protects the cutting edge and extends tool life. With a 5/16 inch mill diameter, 13/16 inch length of cut, and 2-1/2 inch overall length, this three-flute end mill is suited for slotting, profiling, and pocket milling operations where surface finish and dimensional accuracy matter. Installation and setup are handled by machinists and CNC operators in job shop and production environments.
This end mill is engineered for cutting aluminum alloys and non-ferrous materials, corresponding to workpiece material code N. The three-flute geometry balances chip clearance with core strength, making it a practical choice for both roughing and finishing passes in non-ferrous stock. Typical applications include aerospace components, automotive parts, and general machining work where a standard-length tool with a straight shank fits the tool holder. The right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction are standard for conventional spindle setups.
Designed for use with standard straight-shank tool holders accepting a 5/16 inch shank diameter. Primary workpiece material is aluminum and non-ferrous metals (material code N). Part of SECO Series A345 standard-length square end mills.
This end mill is installed by machinists using an appropriate collet or end mill holder rated for the 5/16 inch shank diameter. Verify tool holder runout does not exceed the maximum TIR of 0.0050 inches before commencing a cut. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing tooling. Do not use this tool on ferrous materials, as the ANF coating is formulated for non-ferrous applications.
