The SECO 10023006 is a single-end square end mill designed for precision milling in aluminum and non-ferrous materials. Built from micrograin solid carbide, it delivers rigidity and edge retention where high-speed cutting of soft metals demands a stable, sharp tool. The 3/16 inch cutting diameter pairs with a 9/16 inch length of cut and a 45-degree helix angle, promoting efficient chip evacuation and reduced built-up edge. An ANF coating further improves surface lubricity for cleaner finishes on aluminum alloys. This tool is installed and operated by machinists and CNC programmers working in job shops, aerospace component work, and general metalworking environments.
The 10023006 is suited to finishing and light roughing passes on aluminum, brass, copper, and other non-ferrous stock. The 3-flute geometry balances chip load per tooth with enough core strength to handle the 3/16 inch diameter without deflection on typical benchtop and VMC setups. The straight, 3/16 inch shank mounts directly into standard ER collets or end mill holders. With a 2 inch overall length and standard length classification, it fits most short-reach applications without requiring extended-reach holders.
Designed for use in aluminum and non-ferrous material applications as part of the SECO Series A345 end mill family. The 3/16 inch straight shank is compatible with standard ER collet systems and end mill holders sized for 3/16 inch shank diameters.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist familiar with CNC or manual milling equipment. Ensure the spindle is fully de-energized and locked out before mounting or removing tooling. Use a calibrated collet or end mill holder torqued to the machine manufacturer's specification — do not overtighten or use worn collets, as runout directly affects tool life at this diameter. Verify TIR before beginning a production run; the maximum rated TIR for this tool is 0.005 inches.
