The SECO 10023004 is a single-end square end mill designed for machining aluminum and non-ferrous materials. Built from micrograin solid carbide, it delivers the rigidity and edge retention needed for high-speed milling operations in these materials. The tool features a 5/32 inch (0.1563 inch) cutting diameter, a 1/2 inch length of cut, and a 45-degree helix angle that promotes efficient chip evacuation in aluminum alloys and similar workpiece materials. An ANF coating reduces built-up edge and extends tool life in non-ferrous applications. Machinists and CNC programmers working in job shops, aerospace fabrication, and general metalworking will find this tool fits standard toolholding setups with its 3/16 inch straight shank.
This end mill is suited for slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling in aluminum, brass, copper, and other non-ferrous materials. Its centercutting geometry allows plunge entry, adding flexibility to toolpaths without requiring a separate drilling operation. The right-hand cut and right-hand spiral flute direction are compatible with conventional CNC milling center spindle configurations. With a 2 inch overall length and standard length classification, it fits a wide range of toolholder and collet arrangements without requiring extended-reach tooling.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills with collet or end mill holders accepting a 3/16 inch straight shank. Primary workpiece materials are aluminum and non-ferrous metals (Material Code N).
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop safety procedures. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state before loading or unloading the tool. Seat the shank fully in the collet or toolholder and torque the retention mechanism per the toolholder manufacturer specification. Verify runout does not exceed the TIR maximum of 0.0050 inch before initiating a cut.
