The SECO 10023003 is a single-end square end mill designed for precision milling of aluminum and non-ferrous materials. Built from micrograin solid carbide, it delivers consistent edge integrity and dimensional accuracy across high-speed applications. The tool measures 5/32 inch (0.1563 inch) in cutting diameter with a 5/16 inch length of cut and a 2 inch overall length. A 45-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation in ductile materials, while the ANF coating reduces built-up edge and extends tool life. This end mill belongs to SECO Series A345 and is center-cutting, allowing direct plunge entry without a pre-drilled pilot hole.
This end mill is suited for light-to-medium material removal in aluminum, copper, brass, and other non-ferrous alloys. It is a short-length geometry tool, making it a practical choice for applications where rigidity and reduced deflection are priorities. Typical use cases include slotting, profiling, and pocketing operations on CNC machining centers and manual knee mills. The straight shank and 3/16 inch shank diameter fit standard ER collet systems and side-lock holders commonly found in job shop and production environments.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills with standard collet or side-lock toolholding systems accepting a 3/16 inch straight shank. Intended primarily for aluminum and non-ferrous workpiece materials as indicated by Primary Workpiece Material Code N.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and locked before inserting or removing the tool from the holder. Verify collet size matches the 3/16 inch shank diameter and that runout does not exceed the 0.0050 inch TIR maximum specification. Follow the machine manufacturer guidelines for speeds and feeds appropriate to solid carbide tooling in non-ferrous materials.
