The SECO 10022704 is a single-end, square-profile carbide end mill engineered for milling aluminum and non-ferrous materials. Built from micrograin solid carbide with an ANF coating, it delivers sharp cutting action and wear resistance in high-speed finishing and light roughing operations. The 2-flute geometry provides generous chip clearance, which is essential when cutting soft, gummy materials like aluminum that can load flutes quickly. At 5/32 inches in diameter with a 45-degree helix angle and right-hand cutting and flute direction, this tool is suited for machinists and tooling technicians running CNC mills or manual knee mills where precision and surface finish matter.
This end mill fits applications in aerospace, automotive, and general fabrication shops where aluminum, brass, copper, and other non-ferrous alloys are the primary workpiece materials. The short-length classification and 5/16-inch length of cut make it best suited for shallow slots, pockets, and profiling cuts where rigidity is a priority. The straight shank and compact overall length of 2 inches allow it to seat securely in standard collet and end mill holders without excessive overhang.

Installation and tool changes should be performed with the machine spindle fully stopped and locked out per shop lockout/tagout procedures. Seat the straight shank fully into the collet or holder before torquing the retention nut to the holder specification. Inspect the tool for edge chipping before each use, and never exceed the tool manufacturer's recommended speeds and feeds for the workpiece material and depth of cut.
