The SECO 10008598 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal cutting and machining applications. With a 3/8 inch cutting diameter and a 0.0300 inch corner radius, it produces smooth, radiused transitions on workpiece edges while reducing stress concentrations common with sharp-corner toolpaths. The five-flute geometry paired with a 40-degree high helix angle improves chip evacuation and surface finish at higher feed rates. An HTA PVD coating extends tool life in ferrous and hardened materials. This end mill is single-end, centercutting, and right-hand cutting with a straight-cylindrical shank, making it compatible with standard toolholders used in CNC machining centers and manual mills.
This tool is suited for finish milling, profiling, and contouring operations in job shops, production machining environments, and toolroom applications. The STR540 series short-flute design provides rigidity in tight-reach applications where chatter control is critical. It is installed by machinists and CNC operators working with ferrous alloys, stainless steels, and similar materials where corner radius geometry is required by print specifications.
Designed for use with standard cylindrical-bore toolholders on CNC machining centers and manual milling machines accepting a 3/8 inch shank diameter.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the spindle is fully powered down and the machine is in a safe state before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the toolholder and tighten to the toolholder manufacturer's specified clamping method; do not use damaged or contaminated collets. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a production cut to confirm TIR is within the 0.0005 inch maximum specification.
