The SECO 10008562 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill engineered for precision milling operations in metalworking and machining applications. Built on the STR440.2 series platform, it features a 3/16 inch (0.1875 inch) diameter with a 0.0100 inch corner radius and four flutes, delivering clean, chip-free edges on profiling and finishing passes. The tool carries an HTA PVD coating applied via physical vapor deposition, which extends cutting life and improves heat resistance at the tool-workpiece interface. With a variable helix design and right-hand cutting direction, it reduces chatter and promotes smooth chip evacuation during high-speed milling cycles.
This end mill is suited for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills where precise corner radii and tight tolerances are required. The short length type and 3/8 inch length of cut make it well-suited for shallow pocketing, slotting, and profile milling on ferrous and non-ferrous workpiece materials. It accepts standard straight-cylindrical toolholders with a 3/16 inch shank and is compatible with a wide range of toolholder styles used in production and job-shop environments. The centercutting geometry allows direct plunge entry without a pre-drilled pilot hole.
Designed for use with standard straight-cylindrical toolholders accepting a 3/16 inch shank diameter, as noted in the STR440.2 series specification for toolholder-mounted milling applications.
Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC setup technician. The tool shank must be fully seated and clamped to the manufacturer-specified toolholder torque per the toolholder documentation before operation. Verify spindle runout does not exceed the tool TIR rating of 0.0005 inch prior to cutting. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or coating damage before each use, and never exceed the recommended depth of cut for the 3/8 inch length of cut on this tool.
