The SECO 10008085 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling in demanding applications. It features a 0.5-inch diameter with a 0.0300-inch corner radius, six flutes, and a 38-degree helix angle. The HTA PVD coating provides enhanced wear resistance and heat tolerance, making it well suited for cutting stainless steel and other difficult-to-machine alloys. The centercutting design allows for plunge entry. Intended for installation in standard straight-shank toolholders, this end mill is used by machinists and tool-and-die professionals in CNC milling operations requiring tight tolerances and consistent surface finish.
This end mill is built for milling stainless steel in both production and job-shop environments. The S638R series geometry, close pitch flute spacing, and right-hand cutting direction are optimized for finish and semi-finish passes where dimensional accuracy is critical. The 1.625-inch length of cut provides sufficient reach for common depth-of-cut requirements without sacrificing rigidity. It mounts in standard straight-cylindrical toolholders with a 0.5-inch bore.
Designed for use with standard straight-cylindrical toolholders accepting a 0.5-inch shank. Primary workpiece material is stainless steel. Part of the SECO S638R series.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the toolholder bore and collet are clean and free of debris before seating the shank. Verify runout does not exceed the maximum TIR specification before beginning a cut. Follow machine manufacturer guidelines for spindle speed, feed rate, and depth of cut appropriate to the workpiece material.
