The SECO 10001026 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying ANSI and ISO designation XOMX160508TR-MD14 and manufacturer grade MK2050. It features a PVD-applied dual coating of TiSiN and TiAlN for thermal resistance and wear protection during demanding milling operations. The parallelogram-shaped, single-sided insert has a positive rake angle of 4 degrees, a 15.20-degree relief angle, a T-Land cutting edge style, and delivers two cutting edges per insert. With an inscribed circle of 0.4016 inches and a thickness of 0.2366 inches, it is engineered for precision face and shoulder milling applications in production environments. Installation is performed by licensed machinists and CNC tooling technicians.
This insert is designed primarily for milling cast iron, steel, and hard materials, making it well-suited for both roughing and finishing passes where edge security and coating durability are critical. It fits the R217.69-XO16 and R220.69-XO16 SECO cutter series, confirming direct compatibility with those tool bodies. Right-hand cutting geometry and the MD14 chip breaker geometry support controlled chip evacuation at moderate to high feed rates. Typical applications include horizontal and vertical machining centers in job-shop and production-floor environments.
Compatible with SECO cutter series R217.69-XO16 and R220.69-XO16. Designed for milling applications involving cast iron (ISO material code K), steel (ISO code P), and hard materials (ISO code H).
This insert is installed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Before changing inserts, power down the spindle and follow lockout/tagout procedures per applicable shop safety standards. Seat the insert fully against the pocket walls and tighten the clamping screw to the tool body manufacturer's specified torque using calibrated tooling — do not overtighten, as this can fracture the carbide substrate. Inspect the insert pocket for debris or damage before seating a new insert.
