The SECO 10001010 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying the ANSI and ISO designation XOMX160508TR-M13 in manufacturer grade F40M. This single-sided, parallelogram-shaped insert is ground from fine-grain solid carbide and coated with a TiAlN and TiN multilayer finish applied via PVD process. It features a positive rake angle of 9 degrees, a T-Land cutting edge style, and a 15.20-degree relief angle. Two cutting edges are available per insert. The corner radius measures 0.0315 inches, and the maximum depth of cut reaches 0.6063 inches. The M13 chip breaker geometry is designed for stable chip control across a broad range of feed rates. Licensed machinists and CNC tooling technicians are the primary installers of this insert type.
This insert is suited for milling applications on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, and titanium. The F40M grade and PVD TiAlN and TiN coating combination supports use in both roughing and semi-finishing passes. It is compatible with the R217.69-XO16 and R220.69-XO16 cutter series from the XOMX-16 series tooling platform. Typical applications include face milling and shoulder milling on ferrous and non-ferrous workpieces in production machining environments, job shops, and aerospace component manufacturing.
This insert is compatible with the R217.69-XO16 and R220.69-XO16 cutter series within the XOMX-16 platform. The insert holding method is screw-type. Cutter body compatibility should be confirmed against the specific pocket geometry and insert seat specifications of the tool body before installation.
Installation is performed by a qualified CNC machinist or tooling technician. The machine spindle must be fully stopped and the machine placed in a safe, locked-out state before changing inserts. Use the appropriate torx or hex key to seat the clamping screw to the tool body manufacturer's specified procedure. Inspect the insert pocket for wear or debris before seating a new insert, and confirm correct orientation of the right-hand cutting edge before resuming operation.
