The SECO 10000047 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying the ANSI and ISO designation XOEX160508R-M09, manufactured to the F40M grade with a fine-grain carbide substrate. Designed for indexable milling applications, the insert features a parallelogram shape with a 90-degree included angle and a positive rake geometry at 14 degrees, which reduces cutting forces and heat buildup at the tool tip. The dual-layer PVD coating — TiAlN over TiN — provides thermal resistance and edge durability across a range of workpiece materials. With two cutting edges and a honed edge style, the insert is held in place by a screw-type clamping method and is intended for right-hand cutting.
This insert is suited for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, and titanium. It carries primary material codes P, K, and S and secondary codes K and N, covering a broad spectrum of roughing and semi-finishing applications. The M09 chip breaker geometry is optimized for medium-duty cuts in these material groups. Installation is performed by licensed machinists and CNC tooling technicians in manufacturing, job shop, and production milling environments.
Designed for use with SECO cutter series R217.69-XO16 and R220.69-XO16. Insert style XOEX, series XOEX-16, insert size code 160508.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Always power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate torx or hex key to the cutter body manufacturer torque specification for the screw-clamp seat — do not over-tighten, as this can crack the carbide insert. Inspect the insert pocket for chips, debris, or seat damage before seating a new insert.
