The SECO 03323700 is a taper length solid carbide drill bit designed for precision drilling in demanding machining applications. Built from solid carbide and finished with a TiAlN coating, this bit delivers high heat and wear resistance during high-speed or dry cutting operations. It features a 140-degree split point angle that reduces walking and improves entry accuracy. The 7/16 inch (0.4376 inch decimal) diameter and 8xD flute-to-diameter ratio make it well suited for deep-hole drilling where chip evacuation and rigidity are critical. Coolant-through capability supports high-feed operations in tough materials. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals are the primary installers of this bit.
This drill bit is intended for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and similar machine tool setups where a straight cylindrical shank is accepted. It is appropriate for ferrous and non-ferrous metals, hardened steels, cast iron, and other materials that benefit from carbide tooling and TiAlN coating. The right-hand spiral flute design promotes efficient chip removal during through-hole and blind-hole drilling. With a maximum drilling depth of 96 millimeters and an overall length of 163 millimeters, it fits standard taper-length tooling setups in both production and job-shop environments.

Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following standard toolholding procedures. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the bit. Seat the straight shank fully and evenly in the collet or chuck to the required engagement depth before tightening. Verify coolant-through passages are clear and compatible with the machine spindle before running coolant-fed cycles.
