The SECO 03310382 is a DCMT-series indexable turning insert designed for single-point metal cutting on CNC lathes and turning centers. It carries the industry standard designation DCMT32.51-F1 and is manufactured from solid carbide with a multilayer CVD coating of TiCN, Al2O3, and Cr in manufacturer grade TP25. The 55-degree diamond insert shape provides a sharp cutting edge with a 7-degree relief angle and a 17-degree positive rake angle. With a corner radius of 0.0157 inches and an inscribed circle of 0.375 inches, this insert is suited for light to medium material removal on steel and stainless steel. The F1 chip breaker geometry promotes controlled chip formation across a broad range of cutting parameters.
This insert is intended for use in steel (ISO P), stainless steel (ISO M), and cast iron (ISO K) applications in material grades P20, P25, P30, and P35. Typical applications include turning, facing, boring, and back turning operations. The neutral hand orientation makes it compatible with standard DCMT-style toolholders using screw clamping. It is suited for production environments where tool life consistency and surface finish quality on ferrous workpieces are priorities. The DCMT32.51-F1 designation conforms to both ANSI and ISO standards, and the ISO code equivalent is DCMT11T304-F1.
Designed for use in DCMT-style screw-clamp toolholders with a neutral insert hand. Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC setup technician using a torx or hex key to seat the insert via the screw-clamp holding method. Ensure the machine spindle is stopped and the toolholder is secured in the turret before indexing or replacing the insert. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surface for chips or debris before seating a new insert. Do not exceed the maximum depth of cut of 0.378 inches as specified for this insert geometry.
