The SECO 03310376 is a solid carbide turning insert designed for precision metal cutting in CNC and manual lathe operations. It carries the CCMT432-M3 industry standard designation and is manufactured to the TP25 grade with a multilayer CVD coating of TiCN and Al2O3 over a carbide substrate. The diamond 80-degree insert shape provides a strong cutting edge geometry, while the M3 chip breaker promotes controlled chip flow across a range of feed rates and depths. With a 0.5079-inch insert length, a 0.5000-inch inscribed circle, and a 0.0315-inch corner radius, this insert suits medium to semi-finish turning passes. It is held in place by a screw-clamp toolholder and is rated for neutral hand orientation.
This insert is engineered primarily for steel machining, covering material grades P20, P25, P30, and P35 per ISO classification. Secondary workpiece materials include stainless steel and cast iron. Insert installation and replacement should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician with the machine spindle fully stopped and all motion locked out per shop lockout/tagout procedures. Seat the insert firmly against the toolholder pocket locating surfaces before tightening the clamp screw to avoid micro-movement during cutting. Inspect the insert pocket and clamp components for wear or debris before seating a new insert. Discard inserts when cutting edge wear or chipping is visible rather than attempting to re-use compromised edges.
