The SECO 03310373 is a solid carbide turning insert in the CCMT series, designed for precision metal cutting in lathe and boring applications. It carries an 80-degree diamond shape (insert shape code C) with a neutral hand orientation and a 0.0315-inch corner radius. The TP25 grade features a multilayer CVD coating of TiCN, Al2O3, and Cr, placing it in material grades P20, P30, and P35. With two cutting edges, a positive rake angle of 17 degrees, and a sharp cutting edge style, this insert is built for efficient material removal on steel and related ferrous workpiece materials. Licensed machinists, CNC operators, and tool-and-die professionals are the primary users.
This insert is suited for general turning, facing, and boring operations on steel as the primary workpiece material, with stainless steel and cast iron as secondary applications. The F1 chip breaker geometry promotes controlled chip formation across a range of cutting conditions. The inscribed circle measures 0.375 inches with an insert length of 0.3819 inches and a thickness of 0.1563 inches, making it a standard-footprint choice for CCMT-compatible toolholders used in both production and job-shop environments. Screw-style insert holding is standard with this geometry.
Designed for use in CCMT-style toolholders with screw-type insert retention. Compatible with turning, facing, and boring applications on steel (P), stainless steel (M), and cast iron (K) workpiece materials per ISO material classification.
Installation is performed by qualified CNC machinists or manual lathe operators. Ensure the machine is powered down and the spindle is locked before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate torque screwdriver for the insert screw to avoid over-torquing the clamping hole, which can fracture the carbide. Verify seating in the toolholder pocket is flush and secure before resuming cuts.
