The SECO 03310372 is a solid carbide turning insert in the CCMT series, designed for precision metal cutting in lathe and boring applications. It carries a multilayer CVD coating of TiCN, Al2O3, and Cr, which improves wear resistance and extends tool life across a range of ferrous workpiece materials. The insert features an 80-degree diamond shape, a 3/8-inch inscribed circle, and a 0.0157-inch corner radius. With a positive rake angle of 18 degrees and a chamfered and honed cutting edge, it delivers a controlled, stable cut. Licensed machinists and tooling technicians install this insert in compatible CCMT toolholders on CNC lathes and manual turning centers.
This insert is rated for primary use on steel (ISO material code P) and is also suited for stainless steel and cast iron as secondary workpiece materials. Material grades P20, P30, and P35 cover a broad range of steel alloys commonly encountered in production and job-shop environments. The M3 chip breaker geometry supports boring, facing, and turning operations, making it a versatile single-insert option across multiple machining passes. It is compatible with screw-clamped CCMT toolholders and follows both ANSI and ISO standards under ISO code CCMT09T304-M3.
Designed for use in screw-clamped CCMT-series toolholders conforming to ANSI and ISO standards. Suitable for CNC and manual lathes performing turning, facing, and boring on steel (P20, P30, P35), stainless steel, and cast iron workpieces.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians. Before changing inserts, ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out per shop lockout/tagout procedures. Seat the insert fully against the toolholder pocket and torque the clamping screw per the toolholder manufacturer specification. Inspect the cutting edge and chip breaker for damage before returning the tool to service.
