The SECO 03282272 is a right-hand indexable turning toolholder in the DDJN style, designed for use on CNC lathes and manual turning centers. It uses a clamp-style insert holding method to secure DN-style negative-rake inserts with a 1/2 inch inscribed circle and 3/16 inch insert width. The shank measures 3/4 inch wide by 3/4 inch tall, making it compatible with standard lathe tool blocks and quick-change turrets. A rake angle of -6.3 degrees and DDJNR geometry deliver stable, predictable cutting performance across a broad range of workpiece materials. This toolholder is part of the JETI series and is intended for professional machinists and tooling technicians.
This toolholder is suited for general turning operations in job shop, production, and maintenance machining environments. The universal primary workpiece material rating covers hard, cast, stainless, non-ferrous, steel, and high-temp alloy materials, corresponding to ISO material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S. It is appropriate for both roughing and finishing passes depending on insert grade and geometry selection. The head length is 45.00 mm, with a back-of-bar to cutting edge distance of 1.0591 inches, supporting accurate tool offset setup on CNC turning machines.
Compatible with DN-style negative-rake inserts with a 1/2 inch inscribed circle, including DN43 and DN44 insert size codes. Designed for use in standard lathe tool blocks and quick-change turret systems accepting a 3/4 inch square shank.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Ensure the lathe or turning center is fully powered down and the spindle is locked before changing or seating the toolholder in the turret. Use the appropriate torque wrench and clamp screw to secure the insert per the insert manufacturer's recommended procedure. Verify tool offset and cutting edge height at centerline before resuming cutting operations.
