It carries a multilayer TiAlSiN PVD coating under the manufacturer grade TS2050, which is engineered for performance on superalloys, titanium, stainless steel, and hard materials. The insert features an 80-degree diamond shape, a positive rake angle of 21 degrees, and a sharp cutting edge style. With a 7-degree relief angle and a corner radius of 0.0157 inches, it is suited for finishing and semi-finishing passes where tight tolerances and surface finish matter. This insert is installed and replaced by machinists and CNC tooling specialists in production and job-shop environments.
This insert is intended for boring, facing, and turning operations on superalloys, titanium, stainless steel, and hard workpiece materials. The AL chip breaker geometry supports controlled chip formation at the light-to-moderate depths of cut common in finishing work. Indexing and insert replacement should be performed by a qualified machinist with the machine fully stopped and locked out per facility lockout/tagout procedures. Ensure the insert pocket and seating surfaces are clean and free of debris before seating the insert. Use the appropriate torx or hex key to torque the clamping screw to the toolholder manufacturer specification — do not overtighten. Verify insert seating and edge condition before resuming cuts.
