The SECO 03277077 is a CNMG-style indexable turning insert designed for general turning, facing, and boring operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. It carries the industry designation CNMG432W-MF4 and is manufactured in grade TM2501, a CVD-coated carbide substrate featuring a multilayer TiCN, Al2O3, and Cr Duratomic coating. The insert has an 80-degree diamond shape, a 0.5-inch inscribed circle, a 0.0315-inch corner radius, and 4 usable cutting edges. The MF4 chip breaker geometry and chamfered-and-honed cutting edge suit interrupted and continuous cuts in stainless steel and steel. Licensed machinists and CNC operators install and index this insert at the machine.
This insert is optimized for primary use in stainless steel (ISO material code M) and secondary use in steel (ISO material code P), covering material grades M25, M30, and M35. The neutral hand orientation makes it suitable for both right-hand and left-hand toolholders. Typical applications include finish-to-medium roughing operations on turned components in aerospace, energy, and general manufacturing environments. The wiper edge feature supports improved surface finish at standard feed rates. Indexable inserts are installed and serviced by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Seat the insert fully against the toolholder pocket and torque the clamping screw per the toolholder manufacturer specification. Inspect the insert seat and shim for damage each time the insert is indexed to prevent premature edge failure.
