The SECO 03276699 is a solid carbide turning insert with ISO designation WNMG060404-MF4 and industry standard number WNMG331-MF4. It carries a TM2501 manufacturer grade and uses a CVD-applied Duratomic coating of TiCN, Al2O3, and Cr for wear resistance and thermal stability. The trigon insert shape features an 80-degree included angle, a 0-degree relief angle (clearance code N), and an MF4 chip breaker geometry. The cutting edge is chamfered and honed with a negative rake angle of 30 degrees. With 6 cutting edges per insert, it delivers extended tool life per piece on demanding metal-removal operations.
This insert is designed for boring, facing, and turning applications. Its primary workpiece material is stainless steel (ISO material code M), with steel (code P) as a secondary application material. Material grades M25, M30, and M35 are supported. The neutral hand and WNMG series geometry make it appropriate for a range of medium to semi-finish cuts in production turning environments. It is suited for use in CNC lathes and turning centers where clamp, pin, or lever-lock insert holding is employed.
Designed for use in WNMG-series toolholders that accept clamp, pin, or lever-lock holding methods. Conforms to ANSI and ISO standards for WNMG insert geometry. ISO code WNMG060404-MF4.
Insert installation and indexing should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician with the machine powered down and spindle locked. Seat the insert fully against the pocket locating surfaces before tightening the clamping mechanism to the toolholder manufacturer's specified procedure. Inspect the insert pocket for wear, chips, or debris before seating a new edge or indexing to the next cutting edge. Proper insert seating directly affects surface finish, tool life, and dimensional accuracy.
