The SECO 03276684 is a TNMG432-MF4 grade TM1501 solid carbide turning insert designed for precision metal removal on CNC lathes and turning centers. The triangular insert geometry features a 60-degree included angle, a 0.5-inch inscribed circle, a 0.0315-inch corner radius, and a negative rake angle with chamfered and honed cutting edges. The CVD-applied Duratomic TiCN and Al2O3 multilayer coating is engineered to handle the heat and abrasion demands of stainless steel and steel workpieces. With 6 cutting edges per insert, it delivers consistent tool life across production runs. Machinists and CNC operators working in job shops, production facilities, and toolrooms are the primary users.
This insert is suited for back turning, boring, facing, and general turning operations on stainless steel (ISO material code M) as a primary workpiece material and steel (ISO material code P) as a secondary workpiece material. The MF4 chip breaker geometry is optimized for medium finishing cuts. The insert handles maximum depths of cut up to 0.789 inches and is compatible with cutting length ranges from 0.7 to 10.0 inches, making it versatile across a range of part diameters and feature lengths. It is appropriate for both short-run and high-volume production environments requiring tight tolerances.
Designed for use in TNMG-series toolholders that accept a 0.5-inch inscribed circle triangular insert with a 0.2028-inch hole diameter, compatible with clamp, pin, and lever lock holding systems. Material grade designations M15, M20, and M25 indicate suitability for a range of stainless steel cutting conditions.
Insert replacement should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator with the machine powered down and the spindle locked. Use appropriate insert seating tools to ensure full contact with the toolholder pocket and verify torque specifications against the toolholder manufacturer guidelines. Inspect the pocket for chips or debris before seating the new insert. Follow the toolholder manufacturer recommendations for clamping method selection between clamp, pin, and lever lock styles.
