The SECO 03276614 is a VBMT-style solid carbide turning insert designed for precision metal removal in CNC and manual lathe applications. It carries a TM3501 grade designation with a CVD-applied Duratomic multilayer coating of TiCN, Al2O3, and Cr, delivering thermal resistance and edge stability at elevated cutting speeds. The insert features a 35-degree diamond shape, a 1/4-inch inscribed circle, a 1/64-inch corner radius, and a positive rake angle of 17 degrees. The F1 chip breaker geometry produces sharp cutting edges suited for finishing and light roughing passes. Licensed machinists and CNC operators install this insert in standard VBMT-compatible toolholders for high-production turning operations.
This insert is rated for primary use on stainless steel (ISO material code M, grade M30-M40) and secondary use on steel (ISO material code P). It supports back turning, facing, profiling, and general turning applications. The neutral hand designation makes it adaptable across a range of toolholder orientations. With two cutting edges per insert, it offers dual-sided utility, reducing per-edge tooling cost in production environments. It meets both ANSI and ISO standards and carries the ISO designation VBMT110304-F1.
Designed for use in VBMT-compatible toolholders conforming to ANSI and ISO VBMT110304-F1 standards. Primary workpiece material is stainless steel (M-class); secondary application is steel (P-class). Suitable for back turning, facing, profiling, and turning operations.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Always power down and lock out the machine before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate torx or hex key to torque the clamping screw per the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Inspect the toolholder pocket for wear or debris before seating a new insert to ensure proper contact and runout accuracy.
