The SECO 03276599 is a TCMT-style triangular carbide turning insert designed for precision metal cutting on CNC lathes and turning centers. Grade TM2501 features a CVD-applied Duratomic multilayer coating of TiCN, Al2O3, and Cr, which provides thermal resistance and wear protection during interrupted and continuous cuts. The insert measures 0.375 inches inscribed circle with a 0.0315-inch corner radius and carries a neutral hand orientation with a positive rake angle of 17 degrees. It delivers up to 0.5724 inches maximum depth of cut and is held in place by a screw-clamp method. Machinists and CNC operators install this insert in compatible TCMT toolholders for high-productivity turning applications.
This insert is rated primarily for stainless steel (ISO material code M) and secondarily for steel (ISO material code P), covering material grades M25, M30, and M35. It supports multiple operations including turning, back turning, facing, and boring, making it a versatile single-insert solution for shops running mixed stainless and carbon steel workpieces. The F1 chip breaker geometry promotes sharp cutting action and reliable chip control across these material types. It complies with both ANSI and ISO standards, and its ISO code is TCMT16T308-F1.
Designed for use in TCMT-series screw-clamp toolholders accepting a 3/8-inch inscribed circle triangular insert. Industry standard number TCMT32.52-F1 is the ANSI designation; ISO equivalent is TCMT16T308-F1. Suitable for CNC lathes and turning centers machining stainless steel and steel workpieces.
Installation is performed by machinists or CNC setup technicians. Power down and lock out the machine before indexing or replacing inserts. Seat the insert fully in the pocket before tightening the clamp screw to the toolholder manufacturer's specification. Inspect the insert pocket and clamp for debris or wear before each insert change to maintain accurate seating and surface finish.
