The SECO 03276591 is a solid carbide turning insert in the TCMT series, designed for precision metal cutting on CNC lathes and turning centers. Grade TM3501 with Duratomic CVD coating — layers of TiCN, Al2O3, and Cr — delivers wear resistance and thermal stability needed when cutting stainless steel and steel. The insert follows the TCMT21.51-MF2 industry standard designation, features a neutral hand orientation, a 60-degree triangular shape with 3 cutting edges, and a 7-degree relief angle. The MF2 chip breaker geometry with an 18-degree positive rake angle and chamfered-and-honed cutting edge produces controlled chip flow in medium finishing operations.
This insert is suited for turning, facing, boring, and back turning applications on stainless steel (ISO material group M) and steel (ISO material group P). The MF2 chip breaker geometry makes it well-matched for light-to-medium finishing cuts at moderate feed rates. It seats in screw-lock TCMT-style toolholders and is rated for maximum depths of cut up to 0.3945 inches. ISO code TCMT110204-MF2 applies for cross-referencing to compatible toolholder systems. It meets both ANSI and ISO insert standards, making it a direct fit for standard TCMT-compatible holders used in production and job-shop turning environments.
Designed for screw-lock TCMT-style toolholders conforming to ANSI and ISO standards. Primary workpiece material is stainless steel (ISO code M, material grades M30 and M40); secondary workpiece material is steel (ISO code P). ISO insert code TCMT110204-MF2 applies.
Installation is performed by machining professionals on powered-down, locked-out turning centers or CNC lathes before indexing or replacing inserts. Seat the insert fully against the pocket locating surfaces and tighten the clamping screw to the toolholder manufacturer's specified torque. Inspect the cutting edge and seating pocket for debris before indexing to the next edge. Proper tool offset updates in the machine controller are required after each index.
