The SECO 03276589 is a solid carbide turning insert with ANSI designation TCMT21.51-F1 and ISO designation TCMT110204-F1, designed for precision finishing operations on CNC and manual lathes. Featuring a CVD-applied Duratomic multilayer coating of TiCN, Al2O3, and Cr, this insert delivers high toughness on steel and moderate wear-resistance with toughness on stainless steel. The 60-degree triangle shape provides three cutting edges with a positive rake angle of 17 degrees and a 7-degree relief angle. The F1 chip breaker geometry is optimized for finishing cuts, producing consistent chip control at light depths of cut. Each insert ships individually but carries a minimum order quantity of 10 units.
This insert is suited for finishing applications in general machining environments where the primary workpiece material is stainless steel (ISO material group M) and the secondary workpiece material is steel (ISO material group P). It performs in back turning, boring, facing, and straight turning operations. The screw-on holding method makes it compatible with standard TCMT-style toolholders. Material grades M25, M30, and M35 cover a broad range of stainless and alloy steel workpieces, making this insert a versatile choice for production turning cells and job shops handling mixed material runs.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement for standard TCMT-style screw-on toolholders accepting a 1/4-inch inscribed circle triangle insert. Compatible with toolholders referencing ANSI insert code TCMT21.51 or ISO insert code TCMT110204.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC toolroom technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate Torx or hex key for the clamping screw and ensure the insert seats fully and evenly in the pocket before re-engaging the machine. Do not exceed the rated maximum depth of cut for this insert geometry, and verify toolholder compatibility with the ANSI or ISO size code before mounting.
