The SECO 03276268 is a DNMG431-M3 indexable turning insert manufactured from solid carbide with a multilayer CVD coating of TiCN, Al2O3, and Cr. Designed for negative-rake external turning operations, this insert carries the TP25 manufacturer grade and features a chamfered and honed cutting edge for consistent chip control. The M3 chip breaker geometry is optimized for general-purpose steel machining across a range of feeds and depths. With four available cutting edges per insert and a 55-degree diamond shape, it delivers efficient use per unit. The insert is held by clamp, pin, or lever-lock toolholding systems and is compatible with standard DNMG-style pockets.
This insert is intended for CNC lathes and manual turning centers performing back turning, boring, facing, and general turning operations. Primary workpiece material is steel (ISO material code P), with secondary applicability to stainless steel (M) and cast iron (K). Suitable for material grades P20, P30, and P35. The M3 chip breaker geometry supports medium-range depths of cut and feed rates common in production turning environments. Installation and tooling selection are typically handled by machinists, toolroom technicians, or CNC operators working to engineering or process specifications.
Designed for use in DNMG-style negative-rake toolholders accepting a 55-degree diamond insert. Compatible with toolholders conforming to ANSI and ISO DNMG pocket standards. Industry standard number DNMG431-M3; ISO code DNMG150404-M3.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians following machine shop safety procedures. Power down and lock out the machine before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate torque wrench and clamping hardware specified by the toolholder manufacturer — do not overtighten clamping screws. Inspect the insert seat and pocket for debris or wear before seating a new insert.
