The SECO 03276193 is a solid carbide turning insert in the CPMT-F1 series, designed for precision material removal in metalworking applications. It carries an 80-degree diamond shape with a 0.0157-inch corner radius and a 3/8-inch inscribed circle diameter. The multilayer CVD coating combines TiCN, Al2O3, and Cr for wear resistance and thermal stability. With two cutting edges per insert and a positive rake angle of 17 degrees, this insert is suited for turning, facing, and boring operations at material grades P20, P25, P30, and P35. Licensed machinists and tool-room technicians install it using a screw-holding method on compatible toolholders.
This insert is intended for primary use on steel workpieces and is rated for secondary use on stainless steel and cast iron. The F1 chip breaker geometry supports continuous cuts across a range of depths up to 0.3646 inches. It is a neutral-hand insert, making it usable in both left-hand and right-hand toolholder setups. The CPMT series geometry is a common fixture in CNC turning centers and manual lathes across job-shop and production environments. The insert conforms to ANSI and ISO standards and carries ISO code CPMT09T304-F1 for cross-reference purposes.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement CPMT-series turning insert compatible with CPMT-format screw-on toolholders. Primary workpiece material is steel (ISO P); secondary workpiece materials include stainless steel (ISO M) and cast iron (ISO K). Industry standard number CPMT32.51-F1 applies for cross-reference to compatible toolholder systems.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing inserts. Seat the insert fully in the pocket before tightening the clamping screw to avoid insert rocking or chipping. Inspect the insert pocket for debris or wear before each insert change to maintain dimensional accuracy.
