The SECO 03276191 is a solid carbide turning insert in the CPMT series, designed for precision metal cutting on CNC and manual lathes. It carries the CPMT21.51-F1 industry standard designation and is manufactured to TP25 grade with a multilayer CVD coating of TiCN, Al2O3, and Cr for extended tool life and heat resistance. The insert features an 80-degree diamond shape, a neutral hand orientation, and a sharp cutting edge style with an F1 chip breaker geometry. With a 0.2539-inch insert length and a 0.0157-inch corner radius, it delivers controlled chip formation across a range of material removal applications. Licensed machinists and tooling professionals install this insert in standard CPMT-compatible toolholders.
This insert is suited for boring, facing, and turning operations on steel, stainless steel, and cast iron workpieces. The TP25 grade with CVD multilayer coating targets ISO material groups P, M, and K, corresponding to material grades P20, P30, and P35. It is a productive choice in production turning environments where consistent chip control and wear resistance are required across moderate to high cutting speeds. Two cutting edges per insert extend service life before replacement.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement insert for CPMT-series screw-lock toolholders conforming to ANSI and ISO standards. ISO code CPMT060204-F1 and industry standard number CPMT21.51-F1 identify compatible holder systems.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Secure the insert with the appropriate torque wrench and screw per the toolholder manufacturer specification. Inspect the insert seat and clamp screw for wear or debris before seating a new insert to ensure proper clamping and runout.
