The SECO 03276037 is a CNMG434-MF4 indexable turning insert manufactured from solid carbide and coated with a CVD-applied Duratomic multilayer stack of TiCN, Al2O3, and Cr. The insert features an 80-degree diamond shape, a 0.5-inch inscribed circle, and a 0.063-inch corner radius. With four cutting edges, a negative rake geometry, and an MF4 chip breaker designed for finish to medium cuts, this insert is suited to general turning, facing, and boring operations. It is installed by machinists and CNC operators in production and job-shop environments.
The 03276037 is intended primarily for machining stainless steel (ISO material group M, grades M30 and M40) with steel as the secondary workpiece material group (P). The MF4 chip breaker geometry and chamfered-and-honed cutting edge promote chip control and edge stability in interrupted and continuous cuts at moderate to aggressive feed rates. Typical applications include OD turning, facing passes, and internal boring on CNC lathes and turning centers.
Designed for use in CNMG-style toolholders that accept a 0.5-inch inscribed circle, 3/16-inch thick, 80-degree diamond insert retained by clamp, pin, or lever-lock methods. ISO equivalent designation is CNMG120416-MF4. Suitable for multi-use applications including boring, facing, and turning per manufacturer specification.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or indexing the insert. Confirm the toolholder pocket and clamping mechanism are free of chips and debris before installation, as contamination can affect insert seating and edge integrity. Follow the toolholder manufacturer torque guidelines for the clamping screw; do not over-tighten lever-lock or pin-style clamps.
