The SECO 03276010 is a CNMG431-MF2 series indexable turning insert manufactured from solid carbide with a multilayer CVD coating of TiCN, Al2O3, and Cr. The TP25 grade insert features an 80-degree diamond shape, a 0.5079-inch insert length, and a 0.5-inch inscribed circle diameter. The MF2 chip breaker geometry is engineered for medium finishing operations. With a chamfered and honed cutting edge, negative rake angle, and four usable cutting edges, this insert delivers consistent performance in steel, stainless steel, and cast iron applications. It is installed and replaced by machinists and CNC turning technicians in production shop environments.
This insert is suited for turning, facing, and boring operations on CNC lathes and manual turning centers where a CNMG-style seat is present. Primary workpiece material is steel (ISO P class), with secondary application in stainless steel (M class) and cast iron (K class). Recommended material grades are P20, P30, and P35. The MF2 chip breaker geometry targets finishing to light roughing passes where chip control in ductile materials is a priority. The ISO code equivalent is CNMG120404-MF2 and the industry standard number is CNMG431-MF2.
Designed for use in CNMG-style toolholders that accept a 0.5-inch inscribed circle, 80-degree diamond insert with a 3/16-inch thickness and 0.2028-inch hole diameter. Compatible holding methods include clamp, pin, and lever lock systems. Applicable to turning, facing, and boring operations on steel (P class), stainless steel (M class), and cast iron (K class) workpieces.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC turning technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate torque driver or clamping screw specified by the toolholder manufacturer to secure the insert — do not overtighten or use an incorrect key, as this can fracture the insert or damage the pocket seat. Inspect the toolholder pocket and seating surface for chips or wear before installing a new insert.
