The SECO 03275991 is a CNMG432-M3 indexable turning insert manufactured from solid carbide with a multilayer CVD coating of TiCN, Al2O3, and Cr under the Duratomic coating classification. It carries manufacturer grade TM3501 and is designed for general-purpose metal cutting operations including turning, facing, and boring. The insert features an 80-degree diamond shape, a neutral hand orientation, and a chamfered and honed cutting edge style with a negative rake angle of 18 degrees. With four usable cutting edges and compatibility with clamp, pin, and lever lock holding methods, it is suited for high-productivity machining environments. Machinists and CNC lathe operators working in job shop and production settings are the primary installers.
This insert is engineered for primary use on stainless steel workpieces (ISO material code M, grade M30 and M40) and secondary use on steel (ISO material code P). Designed for use in CNMG-style indexable toolholders that accept CNMG432 (ISO: CNMG120408) inserts with clamp, pin, or lever lock holding methods. Verify toolholder pocket geometry and insert seating before use.
Installation is performed by machinists or CNC setup technicians following standard indexable insert exchange procedures. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before handling cutting inserts. Seat the insert firmly against the toolholder pocket with the appropriate clamping method and verify there is no rocking or gap before resuming cuts. Follow toolholder manufacturer torque guidelines for the specific clamp screw used.
