The SECO 03275989 is a CNMG432-M3 series indexable turning insert designed for metal cutting operations in production and job-shop environments. It is manufactured from solid carbide and carries a multilayer CVD coating of TiCN, Al2O3, and Cr, giving it the manufacturer grade designation TP25. The insert features an 80-degree diamond shape with a negative rake angle of 17 degrees and a neutral hand orientation. With four usable cutting edges and a 0.0315-inch corner radius, it delivers consistent performance across facing, boring, and turning operations. Licensed machinists and CNC operators working in steel and stainless applications will find this insert sized and graded for general medium-duty cuts.
This insert is suited for facing, boring, and turning in both light production and high-volume CNC turning centers. The TP25 grade targets steel as the primary workpiece material, covering material grades P20, P30, and P35. Secondary applications include stainless steel and cast iron. The M3 chip breaker geometry is engineered for stable chip control during moderate-depth cuts, with a maximum depth of cut reaching 0.4756 inches. It is compatible with toolholders that accept CNMG-style inserts using clamp, pin, or lever-lock holding methods.
Designed for use in CNMG-style toolholders that accept 432 series inserts with clamp, pin, or lever-lock clamping methods. Conforms to ANSI and ISO standards; ISO designation CNMG120408-M3. Industry standard number CNMG432-M3.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Before indexing or replacing an insert, power down the machine and follow lockout-tagout procedures per applicable shop safety standards. Seat the insert fully against the toolholder pocket and engage the clamping mechanism completely before resuming cuts. Inspect the insert seat and clamping components for wear or debris each time the insert is indexed.
