Product Description

The SECO 03275940 is a CCMT-series indexable turning insert designed for precision metal cutting in CNC and manual lathe applications. It carries the industry standard designation CCMT32.52-F1 and is manufactured from solid carbide with a CVD-applied Duratomic multilayer coating of TiCN, Al2O3, and Cr. The diamond-shaped 80-degree insert features a sharp cutting edge, F1 chip breaker geometry, and a positive 17-degree rake angle. With a 3/8-inch inscribed circle and a 1/32-inch corner radius, it delivers reliable chip control and surface finish on a range of ferrous workpiece materials. It is installed by machinists and CNC operators in turning, facing, and boring operations.

This insert is suited for medium to rough turning of stainless steel as its primary workpiece material, with steel as a secondary application. Material grades M25, M30, and M35 indicate its performance range in moderately to heavily interrupted cuts and continuous passes on austenitic and ferritic alloys. The F1 chip breaker geometry promotes curl and evacuation of chips in these demanding materials. It is used in screw-clamp toolholders compatible with the CCMT insert pocket style and is appropriate for both production shop environments and maintenance machining operations.

Installation Notes

Installation is performed by machinists using the appropriate CCMT screw-clamp toolholder and a torx or hex key to seat the insert securely before cutting. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the toolholder is clear of the workpiece before indexing or replacing the insert. Do not exceed the recommended depth of cut for the workpiece material being machined. Handle carbide inserts carefully to avoid chipping the cutting edge prior to use.
