The SECO 03275933 is a solid carbide turning insert in the CCMT series, designed for precision metal cutting on CNC lathes and turning centers. It carries the industry standard designation CCMT32.51-M3 (ISO: CCMT09T304-M3) and is finished with a Duratomic CVD multilayer coating of TiCN, Al2O3, and Cr for extended tool life in demanding applications. The insert features an 80-degree diamond shape, a 3/8-inch inscribed circle, a 1/64-inch corner radius, and a positive rake geometry with a chamfered and honed cutting edge. The M3 chip breaker geometry supports reliable chip control across a range of material removal rates.
This insert is engineered primarily for turning stainless steel (ISO material code M) and steel (ISO material code P), covering material grades M25, M30, and M35. It is suited for boring, facing, and turning operations in production and job-shop environments. The screw-holding method provides secure clamping in standard CCMT-compatible toolholders. With two cutting edges per insert and neutral hand orientation, it fits a wide range of standard indexable toolholder configurations used in light to medium roughing and finishing passes.
Designed for use in standard CCMT-compatible indexable turning toolholders. The insert conforms to ANSI and ISO standards under industry designation CCMT32.51-M3 (ISO CCMT09T304-M3), fitting toolholders sized for a 3/8-inch inscribed circle insert with a screw-clamp holding method.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the machine before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate torx or hex key to seat the clamping screw to the toolholder manufacturer's specified torque — do not overtighten, as carbide inserts are brittle and can fracture under excessive clamping force. Inspect the insert pocket and clamping components for wear or debris before seating a new insert.
