The SECO 03275925 is a solid carbide turning insert in the CCMT series, designed for precision metal-cutting operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Designated CCMT32.50.5-F1 with manufacturer grade TM2501, this insert features a CVD-applied Duratomic multilayer coating of TiCN, Al2O3, and Cr for extended tool life and thermal resistance. The 80-degree diamond insert shape provides a strong cutting edge geometry, while the F1 chip breaker and positive rake angle of 17 degrees support controlled chip flow during finishing and semi-finishing cuts. Neutral hand orientation makes it suitable for standard right-hand toolholders. The screw-clamping hold method ensures secure seating under interrupted and continuous cuts.
This insert is rated primarily for stainless steel (ISO material code M) and secondarily for steel (ISO material code P), covering a broad range of machined alloys common in production turning environments. Multi-use capability spans boring, facing, and turning operations. The F1 chip breaker geometry is optimized for light-to-medium depth cuts with sharp cutting edge style, making this insert well suited to finishing passes on austenitic and ferritic stainless grades. The ISO designation for this insert is CCMT09T302-F1. Material grades M25, M30, and M35 are within the recommended application range per SECO classification.
Designed for use in CCMT-compatible screw-clamp toolholders. ISO code CCMT09T302-F1 and industry standard number CCMT32.50.5-F1 can be used to cross-reference compatible toolholder bores. Intended for use with stainless steel and steel workpiece materials per SECO material grade classifications M25, M30, and M35.
Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC tooling technician. Power down or place the machine in an E-stop state before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate Torx or hex key for the clamping screw; do not overtighten, as carbide inserts can fracture under excessive clamp force. Inspect the insert pocket seat and clamping screw for wear before seating a new insert to ensure proper contact and runout.
