The SECO 03275902 is a solid carbide turning insert in the CCMT series, designed for precision metal-cutting operations on CNC and manual lathes. It carries the TM2501 grade with a Duratomic CVD-applied TiCN and Al2O3 coating, providing high wear resistance and thermal stability during continuous and interrupted cuts. The insert features an 80-degree diamond shape, a 0.0079-inch corner radius, and a 0.25-inch inscribed circle. The F1 chip breaker geometry produces a positive rake angle of 17 degrees, promoting free-cutting action and effective chip control. Licensed machinists and CNC operators install this insert in standard CCMT-compatible toolholders secured by screw clamping.
This insert is suited for turning, facing, and boring operations on stainless steel as the primary workpiece material and carbon and alloy steel as the secondary workpiece material, corresponding to ISO material groups M and P. The neutral hand orientation makes it compatible with both right-hand and left-hand toolholder setups. Material grades M25, M30, and M35 indicate suitability for medium to medium-heavy cutting conditions. The maximum depth of cut reaches 0.2457 inches, making it practical for both finishing and moderate roughing passes in production turning environments.
Designed for use in CCMT-series screw-clamp toolholders. Industry standard number CCMT21.50.5-F1 and ISO code CCMT060202-F1 can be used to confirm toolholder compatibility. Meets ANSI and ISO standards for CCMT insert geometry.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the toolholder is clear of the workpiece before seating or removing the insert. Use the correct torque screwdriver or hex key specified by the toolholder manufacturer to secure the clamping screw — do not overtighten. Inspect the insert pocket and clamping screw for wear or damage before installing a new insert.
