The SECO 03274180 is a WNMG432-M5 grade TM2501 solid carbide turning insert designed for medium to heavy material removal on stainless steel and steel workpieces. Coated via CVD with a Duratomic TiCN and Al2O3 multi-layer coating, this insert delivers wear resistance and thermal stability in demanding cutting environments. The trigon (W) insert shape provides an 80-degree included angle and a neutral hand orientation, making it suitable for boring, facing, and turning operations. With six cutting edges and a chamfered and honed cutting edge style, the 03274180 is engineered for productivity in production machining applications. Installation and operation by trained machinists or CNC toolroom technicians is standard practice.
This insert is intended for use in medium finishing to semi-roughing operations on stainless steel (ISO material code M) as the primary workpiece material, and steel (ISO material code P) as the secondary workpiece material. Material grades M25, M30, and M35 apply. The M5 chip breaker geometry supports multi-use applications including boring, facing, and turning across both CNC and manual lathe platforms. The insert conforms to ANSI and ISO standards and carries ISO designation WNMG080408-M5. It is compatible with toolholders designed for clamp, pin, and lever lock holding methods.
Designed for use with toolholders accepting WNMG-style inserts with clamp, pin, or lever lock holding methods. Primary application is stainless steel (ISO M) and steel (ISO P) workpieces at material grades M25, M30, and M35. Minimum order quantity is 10 inserts.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC toolroom technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate torque wrench and clamp screw specified by the toolholder manufacturer — do not overtighten, as carbide inserts are brittle and can crack under excessive clamping force. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surface for chips or debris before installing a fresh insert edge.
