The SECO 03273970 is a WNMG433-MF4 grade TM2501 solid carbide turning insert designed for precision metal removal on CNC lathes and turning centers. The insert features a CVD-applied Duratomic multilayer coating of TiCN, Al2O3, and Cr, delivering wear resistance and thermal stability during continuous and interrupted cuts. It carries a 0.5 inch inscribed circle, a 0.0472 inch (3/64 inch) corner radius, and an 80-degree trigon shape with a negative rake geometry. The MF4 chip breaker geometry and chamfered-and-honed cutting edge make it well suited for finishing and light roughing applications. Six usable cutting edges per insert reduce per-edge tooling cost. Licensed machinists and CNC operators install and index these inserts.
This insert is primarily rated for stainless steel (ISO material code M) and is secondarily suited for steel (ISO material code P). Recommended material grades are M25, M30, and M35. The WNMG433-MF4 geometry supports boring, facing, and turning operations, making it a versatile single-insert choice for shops running stainless and steel components in both low-volume job shop and high-production environments. The neutral hand orientation means it seats in standard WNMG-compatible toolholders without handedness restrictions.

Indexing and replacement of turning inserts is performed by qualified machinists or CNC toolroom personnel. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before accessing the toolholder. Use the appropriate torque wrench and manufacturer-specified fasteners when securing the clamping screw or lever-lock pin to avoid cracking the insert or damaging the pocket seating surface. Inspect the toolholder pocket for wear, chips, or debris before seating a new insert.
